One of the first projects for the 7th-grade is a Georgia O’Keeffe inspired watercolor project. Students experiment with various techniques before choosing their own botanical image to paint.

Classes start the year with drawing exercises and review. Watch the blog for some upcoming formidable art!
deck the halls
Starting in the fall, our hallways become viewing galleries for all the art being made. Come and enjoy the bounty!
Community garden mosaic
We were excited to be included in the Barton Community P-Patch project for which our students created a ceramic mosaic. It spells out Barton Street P-Patch in letters formed by insects!
The art room
Our creativity space: We were fortunate to have a classroom makeover several years back. We removed decades-old carpeting, installed three sinks, lots of cabinets and drawers, got new tables and stools, and installed a backsplash embellished with student-made mosaics!
Welcome to the art room blog!
Here we will celebrate the imaginations and creativity of our amazing artists! Starting with the introduction of the art room, we’ll be adding all sorts of artwork and project images, including some historical items of interest. As the year progresses, there will be plenty of new and fascinating posts of what’s happening in the art room. The creative energy is buzzing! Stay tuned and thank you for visiting!
