WATERCOLORS! Our semester is off to a colorful start. The 6th-grade critter pastels are going up and the 7th-grade flower watercolors inspired by Georgia O’Keeffe mean springtime in the fall in the hall.

6th graders are experimenting with color blending on their large pastel drawings. The outlines have been covered in lines of Elmer’s glue. We started the unit with drawing
Artists statements are a wonderful way for students to let the viewer into the artist’s mind. What was the inspiration? What was my process? What did I learn from this?
There’s nothing sadder than a blank bulletin board; there are some waiting for students to take over! They’ll be creating, curating, and displaying their own exhibitions! Here’s a “before” scene … “after” will be up soon.
